Cablevision Systems Corporation was conceptualized by five classmates from Class 1960 of Pedro Guevara Memorial High School. It was founded and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 10, 1992. The company was established to operate CATV Systems primarily in Sta. Cruz, Laguna and adjacent municipalities.

The Municipal Board of Sta. Cruz, Laguna granted Cablevision’s first CATV franchise on 12/14/91. The National Telecommunications Commission awarded the corresponding Provisional Authority six months later which enabled the company to begin CATV operations and connect subscribers. The company started with 12 television channels feeding regular off-the-air TV signals plus Satellite Television channels from free-to-air transmission all over the world. One television channel is made available for community access in accordance with its CATV mandate.

Two years later, the municipal board of Pagsanjan, Laguna awarded the company’s second CATV franchise in recognition of its ability to fulfill its commitment to the community.

The first office and CATV center was located at Mabini Street, Sta. Cruz Laguna, where the CATV headend and two Satellite TVRO Systems were installed. Three years later, the whole operation was transferred to Pagsawitan, still in Sta. Cruz, right next to the boundary of two towns it is serving.

The success of Cablevision throughout the years of each operation enabled us to expand and go beyond cable TV service. In July 2012, MyCV Broadband (Cable Internet) was launched. Since then our cable internet performance has been known as a very good compared to competition. This coming April 2014 the Company will be launching the prepaid cable internet.
